Young Adults/ Young Married Community Service

Join the Young Adults & Young Marrieds ministries as we partner with the city we love and the San Diego River Park Foundation for a morning of helping keep San Diego "America’s Finest City". We will be focusing on restoration work down in Ocean Beach including invasive plant removal, watering and trail maintenance. This is a family friendly event great for small groups and ministry tables to work together, and a meaningful way to give back to our community.

When: Saturday May 18th, 2019 9a-1p

Where: Dog Beach in Ocean Beach at the western end of Voltaire Street, San Diego, CA 92107.

Who: SMCC Young Adults & Young Marrieds and their families*

To register for the event, see below: For more on the River Foundation, visit SanDiegoRiver.org.

Here are a few tips about what to bring to help you be prepared for the event:

  • Be sure to dress in clothes that can get a little dirty and closed-toe shoes are required. No sandals, Tom's or other flats. You must wear sturdy tennis or hiking shoes. A hat, sunscreen, or any other types of sun protection are also recommended for all of our outdoor events.
  • We will provide all tools and supplies for you to borrow, but if you have a favorite pair of work gloves, please feel free to bring them. If you have any friends or family that would like to help, please feel free to bring them along.
  • Please note that there is no potable water at this site. You must bring your own reusable water bottle with water to drink (we encourage reusable in order to reduce single-use plastics). We highly encourage you to check the weather ahead of time and plan accordingly.
  • Please note that light rain will not cancel this event.
  • Community service hours can be verified at this event.
  • For safety reasons, no pets are allowed at this event.
