March 12th, 2020

Dear Shadow Mountain Family,

I’d like to take a few minutes of your time to update you on what’s happening at Shadow Mountain as we navigate the impact of the coronavirus.

A few years ago, we started streaming our services in a way that allowed people to interact with comments and prayer requests. What we didn’t know then, was that God was actually preparing us for this moment when we would be called on to adapt how we do church together to meet the needs of our community and reach the hearts of our neighbors. So here’s what’s coming next.

Online-Only Weekend Services
This weekend our services will be held online only for all Shadow Mountain Campuses. Service times will remain the same; 5 pm Saturday, 9:00 and 10:45 am Sunday. We hope to gather together on our church campuses in Southern California as soon as possible, but in the meantime, we believe we can continue to learn and grow together as a church by worshipping together in our homes with friends and family.

You can still invite your friends! If you’ll be watching the livestream on Facebook, we encourage you to share it on your Facebook feed. If you’ll be watching on our website, consider inviting someone to join you by sending them the link.

For those of you with children, Shadow Mountain Kids will have a service posted by Saturday evening and can be watched at your leisure during the weekend. The link for that content can be found on our website at or on any of our Shadow Mountain Kids social media.

Mid-Week Programs
We are also suspending all on-campus ministries for the next 2 weeks. We will evaluate this decision week to week as the situation around the outbreak continues to unfold. In the meantime, we will be providing alternative ways for you to grow closer to God and learn more about Him.

Christian Unified Schools
Our school will remain open until further notice. We are prepared in case we need to transition to online classes, but we will wait until the County provides that direction. Beginning this Friday, all school athletic events will go ahead as scheduled, but without fans or spectators.

Opportunities to Serve & Give
While the impacts of the coronavirus mean some changes to our daily lives, the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of people have not been put on hold and we must continue to care for those around us. Even though we’re not gathering in-person for church, you still have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others by giving your tithes and offerings through our online giving page.

Final Thoughts
We are encouraged to “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

In Christ
